Fen Bridge

Design, detailing and Category 2 check for a 24m span, 1.2m clear width, steel beam footbridge with hardwood timber deck and parapets, for our client Topbond PLC Group.
The bridge replaced an existing failed timber footbridge in the picturesque area of Dedham Vale. The bridge was designed in accordance with Highways Agency standards for a 120 year design life, utilising existing abutments.
Stirling Maynard was also responsible for temporary works and lift plan checking for the removal and installation lifts as well as the design and detailing of new access steps.
