Inspection and Assessment of a Brick Arch Bridge
To carry out a development near Hull, a Contractor required construction traffic access over a brick arch bridge that carries Castlehill Road over Sutton Cross Drain. Stirling Maynard were appointed to determine the bridge load carrying capacity. In order to undertake a load carrying capacity assessment of the bridge, in accordance with Highways England standard CS 454 for the Assessment of Highway Bridges and Structures, a condition and dimensional survey of the bridge was carried out. The assessment was based on the findings of the survey.
